ASH DARGAN new music, "STORIES OF WIND"- NETHERLANDS FESTIVAL APPEARENCE
DATE: August 20, 2006
"STORIES OF WIND: NEW Aboriginal global groove music by Australia's
premier Didgeridoo and native flute composer/musician, ASH DARGAN"
--Australia's premier Aboriginal world music artist from the Northern
Territories, Larrikia Nation
'Stories of Wind', new recordings by Australian world music composer Ash
Dargan, is a collection of rare musical dialogues between two of the oldest
wind instruments in the world, the Didgeridoo and the Native American flute.
These two ancient voices come together to share the wisdom of the winds and
to celebrate real world events of sacred time. From the gathering of the
frog people to sing forth life-giving rains to a sun-burnt country or the
journey of an eagle's feather in flight as it glides its way earthward:
these are moments in sacred time bought to life in 'Stories of Wind'.
Ash, world renowned for his mastery on the Didgeridoo, creates a landscape
of living rhythms on top of pulsing eco-based beats created with organic and
natural sounds from the Australian environment. Native-styled double and
split scale harmony flutes, various mouth percussion instruments and vocable
singing also are featured throughout 'Stories of Wind'.
ASH'S NEW CONCERTS AND CAMPAIGNS:
Ash will be performing his new works inspired by his travels and experiences
in North American and the Ancients of his native Australia, North American
sacred lands, as well as his 2004-2005 tours and festival concerts in
Belgium, Canada, Great Britain, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Italy, and
throughout the USA and Australia.
Ash travels between the states and his native Australia where he was
composing and recording music for the promotion of his home state, the
Northern Territory of Australia. This is a world-wide musical campaign to
promote the heritage and natural beauty of the Northern Territories lands,
which includes Kakadu National Park and Uluru-- some of the most sacred and
magnificent natural sites and aborginal lands of the world. The new video
and music package was launched in Alice Springs, Northern Territories,
Australia in 2005. He continues to actively tour and compose music for the
